Pakistan: Educational Empowerment.
In June of this year, I will join a team to trek up Nanga Parbat (Naked Mountain), the ninth highest peak in the world towering at 8125 metres and one of only fourteen on the planet that are above 8000 metres. Located in the Gilgit‐Balistan region of Pakistan, the gigantic mountain is set amongst a striking glacial backdrop and forms an amazing, imposing, isolated massif said to be the largest in the world.
Managed by TravelPak, the ten day Trek will start in Islamabad, following the route of the Karakoram Highway, through the Province of Khyber Pakhtunkwa, along the Indus River and up towards the Western anchor of the Himalaya range, to the beauty that is Nanga Parbat. All proceeds will go towards supporting the CARE Pakistan organisation in its ‘Million Child Mission’.
The Trek aims to raise awareness and funding for CARE’s vital mission of educational empowerment in in Pakistan. All proceeds will go towards supporting CARE Pakistan in its ‘Million Child Mission’
I’m thrilled to be a part of this mission, and I hope you’re ready to dip into your pockets, as I will need the support of every one of you!
More details to come in the next few weeks as I prepare for this epic trek through beautiful Pakistan.
